Course Overview

The average woman spends 30% of her life in menopause! Yet when I crossed this bridge I found reliable resources woefully lacking.  All of a sudden my thighs had dimples and the scale was creeping up despite the fact I hadn’t changed anything about my eating or exercise routine.  Each night I was vacillating between feeling like I was sitting inside an oven and thinking I may freeze to death.  My world had been rocked by mother nature.

As a registered dietitian I was thankful I had the knowledge of how to research menopause so that I could make informed decisions about my diet, exercise and medication treatment.  I’ve taken that information and compiled into an easy to digest online course that’s made for any woman who is in any stage of menopause.

menopause: nutrition and exercise matter course

The menopause: nutrition and exercise matter course is for you if your body feels different lately—energy, hunger, sleep, cravings, weight distribution, strength, mood—and you’re tired of being told to “just try harder.” Menopause can change how your body responds to stress, food, and movement. The menopause: nutrition and exercise matter course brings clarity and strategy so you can feel more steady and supported in this season.

In the menopause: nutrition and exercise matter course, we focus on the basics that actually move the needle: nourishment that supports blood sugar and fullness, practical meal structure, and movement that builds strength and resilience. This isn’t about punishing workouts or restrictive plans that leave you depleted. It’s about working with your physiology—supporting muscle, bone health, and metabolism in a sustainable way, while also caring for stress and sleep (because those two factors can intensify cravings and overwhelm).

The menopause: nutrition and exercise matter course is self-paced, so you can learn in a way that fits your life. You’ll leave with realistic action steps, not a list of “perfect” rules. If emotional eating is part of your story, we address that too—because transitions can make food feel like comfort. The goal of the menopause: nutrition and exercise matter course is not just better information; it’s steadier habits that help you feel stronger, clearer, and more confident in your body.

Probably my favorite session and I’ve titled it “why you gained weight without changing anything and what you can do about it.” In this stage of life we have to focus on what we CAN control. You can make changes that increase your metabolism. I’ll teach you how. You can also control your activity level and what type of exercise you do. There are specific guidelines for exercising when you are menopausal. After you watch this session you’ll exercise with more focus and reap the benefits.

As we age, many of us slow down, exercise less, stop high impact exercises. The latest research is clear about the ideal exercises for menopausal women. I’ll show you the data so you can design a new exercise routine to maximize your health.
Session 5 1 Topic
Lesson Content
0% Complete 0/1 Steps
Can food help you manage any of your menopause symptoms? Is your diet making your symptoms worse? I’ll show you what the research has revealed about the connection between diet and hot flashes, insomnia, muscle aches, night sweats, irritability, mood swings and constipation. I’ll also discuss considerations for vitamin and mineral supplementation.

About me

I’m Sherri. I’m a North Carolina girl born and bred. I love hiking, all things UNC Chapel Hill, pinot grigio, and being an overprotective mom to my two cats.  More importantly, I’m menopausal! In my research on how nutrition and exercise impact a menopausal woman I found the studies to be improved from ten years ago, but still lacking.  Women over 50 are unfortunately, an understudied population. This contributes to the fact that there is so much nutrition misinformation on the internet and in the world regarding menopause.  Don’t believe everything you read or hear! You must consider the source.

You can trust that my practice is evidence based.  My recommendations are based on research, nothing else. I will throw in practical tips based on my experience and feedback from past clients, but the recommendations are 100% scientifically proven.

The first step in effectively managing menopause is to arm yourself with accurate information.  This course is designed to do just that.
